Xihu Longjing is known for its long leaves that are a dark forest green shade. The natural form of the leaves is preserved during the drying process which retains the unique flattened shape.


How does it taste?

Picked in the fertile, emerald green valleys of Longjing, Xihu Longjing delights the eye with a mellow yellow-green colour. The taste is full bodied, smooth with subtle floral hints. It has a pleasing soft and sweet lingering aftertaste and a delicate aroma of orchids and chestnuts.

Xihu Longjing is an age-old Imperial tea known for its powerful health benefits. As an excellent source of antioxidants, it helps to reduce the development of cancer cells. It can also aid in lowering the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.


Western Brewing Method

Place 2 teaspoons into your cup. Add 250ml of water at a temperature around 85°C. Allow the tea to steep for 3 to 5 minutes. It goes well with stevia, lemon slices, orange slices, rose buds, mint, and chamomile. Good for two to three steeps.

Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing. Reducing steeping time will render a milder tea. Longer steeping periods will render a bolder flavour. Adjust the amount of tea and steeping time to your liking.


Chinese Gongfu Method

Place 3 teaspoons of tea into your gaiwan. Add water into your cup until leaves are fully submerged. Swirl your cup for 5 seconds and discard water. This is called the rinsing process. Add 110ml of water at a temperature of 85°C. Allow the tea to steep for 20 seconds. Add 15 seconds to your steeping time for subsequent brewing. Good for three steeps.
