Organic Japanese Matcha is stone ground with slow-turning granite wheels to produce a smooth, fine powder. The plants are covered in black film three weeks before harvesting. This film blocks sunlight from reaching the leaves and they are forced to produce more chlorophyll, resulting in the glorious, emerald green colour.


How does it taste?

Be transported to a luxurious Imperial Palace as you sip the bright green liquor. Your palate will detect a slightly bitter vegetal flavour with a lingering sweet aftertaste. The aroma has a strong floral, sweet tinge, bringing to mind lush tea plantations under Mount Fuji. When you whisk, the top layer becomes a creamy, frothy delight.

For Best Brewing

Whisk and Bowl
500ml just-boiled water
  1 to 2 teaspoons
  Whisk vigorously in a zig-zah motion until the tea is forthy.
   Add a teaspoon of honey or your preferred sweetener.

Cup
  180ml just-boiled water
  1 teaspoon
  Add a few drops of hot water to matcha powder mix into paste with a spoon. Add more hot water to paste mixture and stir. Adjust measurement to suit taste.
